Brass dial shelf clock, ca. 1780-1790.

Mahogany shelf clock with a cove and ovolo molded cornice and an ovolo molded top with a central brass urn-and-spire finial on a fluted plinth flanked by pierced fretwork. Top section has a rectangular door with a glazed bell-shaped opening. Below the dial, there is a painted oval with the inscription "For Samuel Fisk Roxbury" surrounded by painted floral motifs. Bottom section with cove molding at the top, an inlaid box, molding at the bottom, and a shaped skirt, all supported on French bracket feet. Circular brass dial with roman hour numerals. Inside the chapter ring there is the inscription "Simon Willard Grafton." Above the central arbor, is an engraved sun containing the inscription "No. 14".
